About

Leading to Wonder

After 34 years in the classroom, Dr. Darlene Gomes has embraced C.S. Lewis’ philosophy that “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.” She is now on a mission to share her passion for classical education with teachers and parents alike. While she has had the opportunity to work with students from kindergarten to college level and has earned a Doctorate of Education with a focus on the classical model, Darlene has found her greatest joy in encouraging and challenging others to view Classical Christian Education as an amazing opportunity that is indeed Leading to Wonder.

Our guiding principles:

Encouraging and Challenging Educators

Inspiring and Equipping Parents

Sharing the joy of Leading to Wonder

Being a teacher in a classical school does not mean one naturally teaches classically. Leading to Wonder seeks to encourage and challenge teachers to joyfully and successfully complete the "work of the ministry."

While it is easy to relegate the job of teaching children to professionals, in classical education, this is a shared responsibility. Leading to Wonder seeks to inspire and equip parents as active partners in the classical Christian school community.

With the understanding that "all true education begins in wonder and ends in wisdom" (S. Mackenzie), Leading to Wonder seeks to share a passion for wonder and wisdom to the glory of the One who is worthy of all wonder and the true fountain of all wisdom.
